How to Enter

The 2023 Western Australian Premier’s Book Awards closed for entries on Thursday 19 January 2023 at 5pm (WST). The Daisy Utemorrah Award for Unpublished Indigenous Junior and YA Fiction, administered Magabala Books  is open until 30 March 2023.

The Premier’s Prize for an Emerging Writer, Children's Book of the Year and Book of the Year are for books published or self-published between 1 January 2022 and 31 December 2022 . Manuscripts and books only published online are ineligible to enter.

The Western Australian Writer's Fellowship is a grant designed to assist a Western Australian writer, in any style or genre, to develop their writing practice.
