Located on the Ground Floor of the State Library, you will find books by Natasha Lester, Shaun Tan, Amanda Curtin and Tim Winton. Read about Noongar bush tucker, Fremantle's musicians, wildflowers, veterans and the science behind your 32 senses.

Nearby you can access magazines and newspapers the day they are published. Find multiple copies of newspapers like The West Australian, The Australian, the Sunday Times and the Australian Financial Review. Browse nearly 30 popular magazines, including Australian Geographic, Better Homes and Garden, Australian Women's Weekly, Taste Magazine, Gardening Australia and Reader's Digest Australia.

With your State Library Membership card, you can freely access e-books, e-audiobooks, e-magazines, e-newspapers and streaming video formats via your iPad or mobile phone. Search the eResources collection.

There is now a dynamic collection of Western Australian books and audiobooks on the Ground Floor that you can borrow. However don’t limit yourself to the ground floor - there is so much more to explore on Levels 1, 2 and 3. From the Music and Australian Music Examination Board Collections (one of the largest in Australia), to children's literature and illustrations in The Story Place and the non-loanable heritage collection on Level 3.
