Graham & Helen Bullock My Death, My Way, Together

Graham and Helen migrated to Perth from England in 1991. Graham was diagnosed with motor neurone disease at the age of 65 and Helen, a retired nurse, is his carer. The couple discuss Graham’s diagnosis and the progression of his illness, and Graham’s relief in the knowledge that he can spare himself and his family suffering through voluntary assisted dying.

Having worked with cancer patients, Helen also believes that those with a terminal or unresolvable illness should have the choice to die. Both feel that death is something that should be spoken about and can be prepared for, and both talk about the life they continue to share with each other and their children and grandchildren.
