Digital Literacy

The State Library of Western Australia supports people in building their digital literacy skills and assists them in finding information and services online. 

If you need help using a computer or smart device or navigating the internet, ask one of our staff members at the Welcome Desk on the Ground Floor or the Reference Desk on Level 3. 

Clients are welcome to use the public computers provided or bring their own device any time during our opening hours.

What we can help with

  • Accessing a computer
  • Printing, copying or scanning documents
  • Finding and navigating government  websites and information online
  • Uploading and downloading forms
  • Setting up and using email and other online services
  • Using web browsers effectively
  • Becoming familiar with a digital device like a mobile phone, tablet or laptop
  • Finding trustworthy information online, including information to help you stay safe online
  • Using the State Library's eResources

What we cannot help with

Unfortunately, we cannot assist with the following:

  • Completing or filling in forms on behalf of clients
  • Transcribing information on behalf of clients
  • Writing, typing or editing documents and emails
  • Online banking and tax support  
  • Setting up devices and data transfer
  • Providing advice on any matters including but not limited to legal, immigration, financial or medical matters.
