

Randolph Stow (28 November 1935 – 29 May 2010) was born at Geraldton but has lived in England for many years. He is a former lecturer in English and Commonwealth Literature at the Universities of Leeds and Western Australia, Harkness Fellow in the United States, and winner of the Miles Franklin, Grace Leven and Patrick White Awards.
His novels include The Merry-Go-Round in the Sea, To The Islands, Tourmaline, Visitants, The Girl Green as Elderflower and The Suburbs of Hell. He has also published three collections of poetry, the children’s classic Midnite, and two widely performed music-theatre works devised for Sir Peter Maxwell Davies.
