Libraries represent an essential part of any community’s social infrastructure and are centres for communication, research, learning and culture. One of the important qualities of libraries is to  provide an environment where all members of society can feel welcomed. Libraries can play a pivotal role in the lives of people with disability by facilitating their participation in society.

The State Library of Western Australia is committed to ensuring that people with disability, their families and carers have the same opportunities, rights and responsibilities enjoyed as others to access the services and facilities provided by these organisations.
