Join artist and author Jodie Davidson for a hands-on creative workshop that turns everyday garden items into crazy critters. Hammer, screw, knot, and weave materials together to bring your creative ideas to life.

Participants will explore recycled wire, plant fibres, paper, textiles and wood to design and construct imaginative creatures inspired by the natural world.

Jodie’s art practice and workshops span sculpture, printmaking, painting, textiles and drawing, with a strong emphasis on using freely sourced and discarded materials.

All materials included.

Suitable for approximately ages 8 and up.

Adults accompanying children are welcome to join in the fun but must purchase their own ticket. Alternatively, adults can also drop off a child but must remain within the building or watch from the side.

Jodie Davidson

Jodie Davidson is a teaching and community artist, project coordinator, illustrator and author. She coordinates public art projects, works with schools and community groups and runs creative workshops while writing, drawing and making. She is inspired by the shapes, form and features found in plants, animals and the natural environment and works outside as often as possible. She also believes we should all learn to use tools. When not talking to trees, birds and flowers, she might be found somewhere in her garden drawing, painting, building or weaving objects from sticks, wire and seed pods.
