Giving at the State Library

The State Library is an icon of community, creativity and culture for all Western Australians that treasures our stories, inspires possibilities and strengthens our communities. We depend on private support to fully enable our potential, deliver strategic projects and make our vast collections accessible. 

Your financial support of the State Library will foster the joy of reading, of curious inquiry and lifelong learning. It will help enable positive life outcomes through literacy and digital inclusion and connect communities across our vast state. It will ensure that our vital services will continue to be offered free of charge and provide open access to education and opportunity for Western Australians from all ages, backgrounds and walks of life.

We are privileged to be enjoying more popularity than ever, with over 1 million visitations per year - but we are currently only able to share the ‘tip of the iceberg’ of the 40 kms of collections shelving of books, magazines, newspapers, comics, artworks, music, movies, photographs and personal diaries held in our building - including the incredible stories they all hold. We are sitting on a treasure trove of untold stories waiting to be made ‘access-ready’ and shared through digital experiences, events and exhibitions - and we require your help to do so. 

Your tax-deductible gift towards education and literacy, Aboriginal engagement, research, writing advocacy and the elimination of access barriers across the State will be for all Western Australians to enjoy. You can choose to support the State Library as a whole or directly support the area you feel most passionate about. All donations above $2 are tax-deductible.

Donors giving $500 and above annually will be invited to join our supporter community, be acknowledged on our website and in annual reports and receive regular written updates on our latest developments.
