Get ready to go wild! Monkey Business: It’s a Barrel of Fun! swings open the doors to a world where imagination runs riot.

Showcasing fun-filled original illustrations from the State Library’s Peter Williams Collection of picture book art, this animal-themed exhibition is the cat’s pyjamas. From flying pigs to scaredy cats, this is storytelling at its most playful, where every artwork is packed with colour, character and chaos.

Let your inner child run with the wolves, chase a few red herrings and finally address the elephant in the room — picture books aren’t just for kids.

This interactive exhibition is supported by an Animal Explorers Trail around the building and a Creature Catchphrases activity sheet. There is so much Monkey Business to get up to at the State Library.
