New website!

The role of the Library is to collect, preserve and share Western Australian stories. We do this for all Western Australians, which is why the website is so important. While the Library is easily accessible for those living in Perth, WA is a big state and so visiting us and exploring our collection in person is not always easy for those in the regions. Our website, however, brings our collection to you no matter where you live.

The new site is focused on sharing stories through images rather than words. Here you will find great examples of the breadth of our collection.

The new site is easy to navigate, but if you do get lost use the search function - it’s fantastic.

One of the reasons the new site is so easy to navigate is that it has been built following lots of user testing conducted by our colleagues at the State Library of Queensland. Our site has been modelled on theirs and we thank them for their generosity in sharing their design. This generosity has meant that this website has been built in house and has cost nothing other than staff time.

Please take some time to look around the new site and we would love it if you provided us with feedback through the online feedback form you will find on all pages. If you love it – tell us. If you find there are errors – tell us. If you have ideas on how to improve the site – tell us. All feedback is appreciated.
