To improve accessibility and offer options to the community, libraries are now offering a choice for people who request library material that is not locally available.
From 1 July 2023, eBooks and online materials will be offered in the first instance. However, if they are unavailable or do not meet user needs, the library will purchase the requested item as a preferred option. Transfer from another library will still be available if these options are unable to source the required item.
This will ensure that customers will be able to access the material immediately through electronic means, through a slight delay with the purchased hard copy version, or through transfer from another library. These options will remain free of charge to library users.
