Jasmine Skye Smith won the 2024 Ilford WA Professional Photographer of the Year.
On 19 September, the 2024 Ilford Orloff Photography Awards Night was held at the State Library of Western Australia. The Awards celebrate the best in Western Australian photography from the past year.
Jasmine Skye Smith was named the overall 2024 Ilford WA Professional Photographer of the Year and Portrait Photographer of the Year. Gaia Boronaga won the State Library of Western Australia Narrative Award .
You can see an exhibition of the incredible winners and finalist photographs at the State Library on Levels 1 and 2, running until 18 February 2025.
The awards are named after one of WA's pioneering photographers, Izzy Orloff (1891-1981), known for his avant-garde street photography and ability to capture everyday moments.

WA history
Izzy was one of WA’s most significant photographers, an Avant-Garde innovator in photographic style who captured moments of urban life. Born in Ukraine in 1891, he migrated to Fremantle in 1910.
Around one million images make up the Pictorial Collection including photographs, postcards, slides, albums, glass negatives, illustrations and art works.
