Join us on a guided tour through the State Library to explore our striking Brutalist building. This unique opportunity to observe behind-the-scenes workings will include a visit to the stacks and a chance to see rare material and expert conservation in action.

You will visit multiple locations where a friendly face from the State Library will invite you to discover their work or a researched collection item. The tour will then lead you to the preservation lab to see how these objects are preserved and cared for.

During the tour, staff from the State Records Office will also explain their role in interpreting Western Australian heritage.

Make a day out of your visit and stay for a panel conversation at 2pm where experts will discuss how the Alexander Library building fits into the architectural heritage of Perth.

Presented in partnership with Perth Design Week.

Tour start times: 11:00am | 11:30am | 12:00pm | 12:30pm | 1:00pm | 3:15pm | 3:45pm | 4:15pm

Tour duration: approximately 1 hour
