Hop into a four-wheel drive and embark on a 1000km road trip through the breathtaking Kimberley landscape.What will you see along the way? Grazing cattle? Rugged anthills? Flowing waterfalls? 

Showcasing David Hardy’s vibrant artwork, On the Way to Nana’s invites you to explore the beauty of this iconic Western Australian region. Count the items in the illustrations, drive a four-wheel drive through the Kimberley, read some deadly books and draw your own map to Nana’s house. There is so much fun to be had on the way to Nana’s!

Illustrator and authors

David Hardy has worked in feature films with Walt Disney Animation Studios and is now a senior gaming illustrator – animator in Sydney. David is a descendant of the Barkindji people of Brewarrina, northwest of NSW. 

Lindsay Haji-Ali is a descendent of the Yawuru and Karajarri people of the West Kimberley region of Western Australia. He is an accomplished artist, and his designs and artworks are held in private and corporate collections. 

Frances Haji-Ali is an educator. She has worked in Catholic schools across the Kimberley and is currently a school principal in Perth.
