Want to find out more about your Moort? Come join our Reconciliation Week Aboriginal Family History Session

Join State Library staff from the Storylines program and staff from Aboriginal History WA to learn more about Aboriginal family history resources in the J.S. Battye Library and State Records Office.

Discover some of the key resources for Aboriginal family history and explore the Storylines online archive.

The Storylines Archive connects Aboriginal people to the State Library’s heritage, history, and photographic collections. You can view and print thousands of photos, plus access to a growing number of oral histories, documents, sounds and movies.

Aboriginal History WA assists Aboriginal people with links to Western Australia to locate records relating to themselves and their ancestors. Learn about the request process and the team’s research projects telling the stories of Aboriginal history in Western Australia.

National Reconciliation Week is 27 May to 3 June 2023. This event will be held outside the State Library of WA in Yeyi Ba Kalyakoorl - the Mia Mia tent installation in the Perth Cultural Centre.

This event replaces our monthly Aboriginal Family History Session for May.
