Pass the parcel and cut the cake, Better Beginnings is turning 20. To celebrate, the State Library and public libraries are hosting birthday parties across WA.
The State Library’s Better Beginnings program supports families to read, talk, sing, write and play every day through long-standing partnerships with public libraries, child health nurses, schools and other community organisations.
The family literacy program started as a pilot in 2004 and was launched statewide in 2005, with the support of the State Government and founding partner Rio Tinto.
To celebrate the big two-oh, public libraries across Western Australia are hosting birthday parties on and around Library Lovers Day (14 February).
The State Library is celebrating during our Rhyme Time and Story Time sessions that same week, with special visitors joining us for Story Time on Monday 10 February.
Visit your local public library or the State Library to join in the fun.
