WA Reflections is a short documentary series that highlights treasures from the State Library’s heritage collection through the work of emerging WA filmmakers. Produced in partnership with Screenwest, this year’s mini documentaries tell the stories of Australia’s first guide dog and her West Australian owner Dr Arnold Cook; the uncanny ‘rock masses’ held at St George’s Cathedral in the 1970s; the extraordinary life of 1920s male impersonator Effie Fellows; and the fascinating history of the Perth Observatory. Join us for this short, snappy, lunchtime screening of all four films.

Billed as "Australia's Perfect Boy", Effie Marion Fellows (1893 - 1977) led an extraordinary life and incredible career as a male impersonator. She toured the world, married twice and was described by a New York newspaper as "one of the greatest boy impersonators in her line".
