What can food tell us about who we are as Western Australians?

Food is more than sustenance – it is a foundation of memory and a record of heritage, carrying the histories of migration, tradition, and identity. Food is a commodity, a resource and a source of comfort (and sometimes conflict).

From nostalgic restaurants, iconic advertising and timeworn recipes to radical social change and environmental transformation, the State Library invites you to take a seat at the table of Western Australia’s food heritage.
