Better Beginnings rhyme videos

Better Beginnings is delighted to release 30 new rhyme videos as part of our catalogue of rhymes, stories and songs.

From old classics to family favourites, each video teaches the words and actions to songs for caregivers of children aged 0–5. Rhymes are a joyful way to build vocabulary, memory, co-ordination, and motor skills, even for children who aren’t talking yet. These new rhymes join the collection already available on the Better Beginnings YouTube channel, website and social media (@betterbeginningwa).

Thank you to the wonderful public library educators starring in the videos from the City of Vincent Library, City of Rockingham Libraries, Mount Barker Library and Community Resource Centre and Bassendean Memorial Library and the State Library.

Better Beginnings is the State Library’s early literacy program that encourages parents and carers to read, talk, sing, draw and play with their child every day. Our goal is to improve literacy and learning outcomes for all Western Australian children through free reading packs and resources.

Better Beginnings are made book by book and rhyme by rhyme.
