Our Education and Literacy Fund supports literacy across the ages, including through our award-winning Better Beginnings program. Better Beginnings fosters the development of early childhood literacy through reading, talking, singing, drawing and playing sessions at our dedicated learning space for children, families, carers, and public libraries statewide. Literacy is a key criterion to successfully engage with society throughout life, and the State Library provides important resources for WA families in their children’s crucial first years.
The Education and Literacy Fund further supports our vast range of metro and regional primary and secondary school excursions and incursions, which, coupled with our holiday programs and teacher classroom resources, provide an extensive range of literacy support. Our WACE Study Space provides a designated exam preparation space for secondary students and continues to be a popular resource for students preparing for their ‘big day’.
Your support of the Literacy and Education Fund will go to the heart of what we aim to achieve at the State Library, ensuring literacy and access to knowledge for all Western Australians. It will help build a brighter future by igniting young minds, introducing new ways of thinking and empowering the next generation of learners.
