Some drivers’ licence registers can be located in Police Station Records. Check AN 5, the Series Registration System and State Records Office Catalogue under the name of the station.

Provides name, suburb/town, date, number of original licence and number of renewal licence.
- AU WA S3589 CONS 1299/178 & 180: Boulder Police Station. Motor Vehicle Drivers’ Licences 1920-1930, 1932-1935
Details include name and address, date licence issued, original and reissue licence numbers, whether car or motorcycle and remarks. Second volume also includes description and make of car, occupation of owner, vehicle licence number and date licence cancelled.

The Royal Automobile Club of Western Australia, in its publication Year book& road guide from 1917-1928 (1919-1921 not held) provides a list of number plates issued in metropolitan and country areas with name and address of owner and type of car.
