Deceased Estates
The records of the Supreme Court (see AU WA A44 Agency 44 ) contain a series of miscellaneous registers concerned with deceased estates (see also Wills and Letters of Administration). It is not always clear how these records relate to other series such as the probate and administration registers. Records which relate to deceased estates are:
- AU WA S1677 ACC 786/77: Cue Courthouse. Curator of Intestate Estates - particulars relating to deceased persons 1905-1920
Provides name, address, age, last place of residence, occupation, date and cause of death, or country (or state) of birth, marital status, if left will, details of next of kin and property valuation. - AU WA S219 CONS 3596/1: Supreme Court. Register of miscellaneous papers compiled by the Probate Office 1905-1947
In most cases relates to applications for probate which were not proceeded with. Name, late address and sometimes date of death are provided. - AU WA S219 CONS 3596/2: Supreme Court. Rough Index of Deaths 1918-1924
Name, running number, date of death and place of residence are provided. - AU WA S219 CONS 3596/3: Supreme Court. Register of Vesting Orders 1892-1903
Name, number, date of vesting and date of administration are provided. - AU WA S219 CONS 3596/4: Supreme Court. Index of Estates 1892-1923
Name, number and date of death (from 1903) are provided.
