A retrospective celebrating Frané Lessac's artistic career over four decades. The exhibition features illustrations from each of her award-winning books, commencing with My Little Island published in 1983, to her most recent release Our Country, Ancient Wonders in 2022.

The State Library holds an impressive collection of Lessac’s original artwork with illustrations from Magic Boomerang (1994), On the Same Day in March (2000), Maui and the Big Fish (2003), Simpson and his Donkey (2008), and Midnight (2015). The retrospective exhibition brings these artworks together in chronological order for the first time.

The exhibition is especially curated for children and their families and includes an opportunity to read the stories together.
