Teacher Preview Event - Florette: A garden of green

Wednesday 22 September 2021 05:00PM to 06:30PM
Geographe Room

Teachers are invited to this special opportunity to preview the State Library's exhibition, Florette: A garden of green.

Florette by Anna Walker shares the adventures of Mae, who moves from the country to the city. Mae misses the apple trees and daffodils - until she discovers a beautiful place of green in the centre of the city.

At this FREE event, teachers will:

  • engage with award winning author and illustrator Anna Walker via Zoom link, as she talks about her writing and illustration process, her inspirations and the collaborative process involved in developing the exhibition Florette: A garden of green. There will be opportunities for Anna to answer your questions.
  • participate in a curatorial tour of Florette: A garden of green and gain insight into the art works and installations that form the exhibition.
  •  learn about the supporting resources and engagement activities that your students can participate in when they visit the exhibition.
  • find out all you need to know to enjoy a school visit to the State Library of Western Australia
  • network with fellow professionals in your field at this catered event.

Florette - A garden of green will be open from 20 September 2021 to 16 January 2022 in the State Library Ground Floor Gallery and Story Place Gallery. The exhibition is FREE of charge.

Registration/arrival for this event opens at 4.30pm for a 5pm start.
