Katy Steele

Armed with one of Australia’s most distinctive voices, Katy Steele is an ARIA Award nominated singer/songwriter/producer.

Katy’s vocal range, songwriting, and sartorial splendour have attracted favourable comparisons to PJ Harvey and Chrissie Hynde. UK’s style bible “The Face” described Katy’s band Little Birdy as “Lucinda Williams meets Kate Bush via Beck” with their intimate and engaging performances.

LITTLE BIRDY released three albums in their homeland to rave reviews and each album spent time in the top end of the Australian charts, including a #1 highest selling Australian album in 2009 and three consecutive albums to reach gold sales status.

In 2009, Katy relocated to New York to begin work on her first solo album. The move led to an evolution in Katy's style and sound that excited and surprised old and new fans alike.

In 2016, after a few changes in direction, Katy released her debut record ‘Human’ to strong reviews. The record was made in her hometown of Perth and incorporated gospel elements with modern electronic percussion.

Katy is currently in the home studio working on her sophomore record, scheduled for release in 2022.
