Federal campaign
Anti-convention message
The Federal League of Western Australia organised a 'No' campaign which argued for a constitutional convention to examine Western Australian grievances. Compared to the vigorous grassroots campaign of the Dominion League, the 'No' campaign was staid and conservative. Apart from writing letters to local newspapers defending the Federation, members of the Federal League organised few political rallies in reply to the constant campaigning of the Dominion League.

Federal League pamphletThe Federal League invited several national figures to campaign on behalf of their case. The Prime Minister Joseph Lyons, Western Australian Senator George Pearce, and former Prime Minister Billy Hughes were brought to Western Australia to speak against secession. They received an often hostile reception from their audiences during a brief speaking tour of Perth, Fremantle and some country centres.
