Internet
The State Library of Western Australia sees the provision of free public access to the Internet as a core service of a State Library, with electronic publications seen as just another information format, and providing access to them a key part of the library's reference and information service.
All Internet workstations are multi language capable and are set up to allow you to:
- word process;
- create presentations;
- print;
- burn CDs;
- use headphones;
- use USB devices;
- use spreadsheets;
- use email; and
- use chat programs.
Full access
Full access to information searching, including the use of Internet search engines and the ability to input any URL, is available from all Internet workstations in the State Library Building. Our Fast Access Internet computers are available for your use in the Discovery Lounge on the ground floor of the Library. If you require a longer period of time on the Internet you can register on our computer booking system. Please see our Computer Booking page for more details.
Large Text Library Catalogue computers and Internet computers
Several of the workstations offering access to the Library Catalogue and Internet are now available with a large text display for easier viewing. Each workstation is clearly labelled as having large text display, but please ask staff for directions to the closest workstation if you are unsure.
