Tasmania collection of records 1830s to 1930s
This CD-ROM contains over 175,000 references to people in Tasmania from 1803 to 1953 and was compiled from material held in the Mitchell Library and Tasmanian archives.

Deane index re-indexed 1823-1840 settlers, military, convicts etc.
Miss Mathilde E Deane, working at the Public Record Office in 1929-1930 compiled an index to letters by or about settlers, military and individuals in the Colonial Office records for both New South Wales and Van Diemen's Land. This CD-ROM is a searchable re-working of that original index. Letters indexed are available as part of the Australian Joint Copying Project collection held in the Genealogy Centre on the 3rd floor.

Over 18 million records have been digitised and are searchable by selecting Search the collection from their home page. Other material can be viewed in their State and Territory Reading rooms.
