1992 THE BRIDE SHIPS

Published with assistance from the Western Australian History Foundation, The Bride Ships is the history of immigrants who came to Western Australia between 1849 and 1889 on the 'bride ships' carrying women who were brought out as servant girls to a colony overpopulated by men both free and bond. The history of immigration is traced both chronologically and through individual biographies.
